Luna 1 or known as Mechta - which means Dreams in Russian, is the first vehicle to reach the area around the Moon.
Luna 1 became a vehicle that is planned to crash into the Moon, but the attempt failed and Luna 1 only be man-made objects hovering in orbit around the sun. Luna 1 meritorious provide information on the radiation belts of Earth and space. Furthermore, this vehicle proves that the moon has no magnetic field.
But an error in the control system off-earth cause errors when burning rocket that caused the vehicle to lose its purpose and across the Moon at a distance of 5,900 km. The name "Luna-1" itself is embedded after the spacecraft reached orbit heliocentric and dubbed the new planets whose orbits lie between Earth and Mars.
