According to Chinese social networks, Samsung would currently work on two different versions of the future mobile chip Exynos 8895. One would be entitled to an 8895M and an 8895V, with a slightly different power degree between the two.
Each year, Samsung markets its Galaxy S smartphones in two versions: a variant intended for Europe, Exynos, and another variant for the United States and part of Asia with a Qualcomm SoC. This year, perhaps there could be three different variants because according to rumors from Weibo, the popular Chinese social network to whom we owe many leaks, Samsung would work on two different versions of his future Exynos 8895.
Different CPU and GPU parts
One would then find an Exynos 8895V and an Exynos variant 8895M. The difference would be only at the level of the CPU frequencies and the level of the GPU used. The four Exynos M2 cores of version M would be clocked at 2.5 GHz against 2.3 GHz for version V. The latter would also integrate a less powerful GPU, a Mali G17 MP18 against the MP20 variant for the Exynos 8895M. In fact, the Exynos 8895M should be in the best case, about 20% more efficient than the Exynos 8895V.
A Galaxy S8 flanged?
The big question then is what Samsung will make these two different variants of the Exynos 8895. It is unclear the Korean giant propose a Galaxy S8 "restrained" for some markets, although LG has not deprived of do with the G5 in South America . The most probable hypothesis would be to book the most powerful version of the Exynos 8895 in the most expensive model of the terminal which will be called the Galaxy S8 Plus. What will push a little more sales against the Galaxy S8 classic.
But this hypothesis is not perfect since Qualcomm only plans to market a single high-end chip in early 2017: the Snapdragon 835. So how to successfully sell two smartphones in Europe with the same chip while in the States -Unis we find two different chips according to the model? Unless the Exynos 8895M is actually reserved for a hypothetical Galaxy Note 8.
