Older models and systems, which have fallen into disuse, will no longer be able to use the messaging service.
The WhatsApp messaging service will stop working on some older models in 2017. In other words, it can only be used until Saturday, December 31, on models running Android 2.1 or 2.2, Windows Phone 7 and iPhone 3GS / iOS6 - Systems that have already fallen into disuse.
In late June June 2017, WhatsApp will also crash on the Blackberry OS, Blackberry 10, Nokia S40 and Nokia Symbian S60.
