July 4, 1776: United States of America Declares Independence

Superpower United States (US) declared its independence on July 4, 1776, after officially split from England.


The struggle to reach that stage began in April 1775 when the first battle of the Revolutionary War the US broke. At that time only a few colonies who want full independence from Britain. All that changed in mid-1776, due to the increasingly warming of relations with Britain and the spread of the spirit of revolution, a growing number of colonies that eventually opted for independence.

On July 2, 1776, representatives of the 13 colonies who fought in the revolution against the British decided to secede from the United Kingdom, and opted for independence. Two days later, on July 4, 1776, a historic document drafted by Thomas Jefferson, the Declaration of Independence (Declaration of Independence) was approved and adopted by the representatives of the colony marked the birth of the United States (US).

All 13 colonies decided to liberate themselves is New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.

Celebration of US Independence Day is celebrated every year with activities with family and friends. At the celebration of one of the US national holiday, the US citizens are usually gathered for a picnic, burning flesh, and see the fireworks. It is not missing from the celebration is of course the US flag and the national anthem The Star Spangled Banner. (okezone)
