Google should remove the Google Now Launcher from the Play Store within a few days

Nexus 5X (White) - wikipedia

In an email sent to third-party Android smartphone manufacturers, Google announced it would soon remove the Google Now Launcher from its app store, the Play Store. The goal would then be to highlight the Pixel Launcher, the one currently found on Pixel smartphones.

Is this the end for the Google Now Launcher? Yes, if one believes the letter has obtained the US Android Police website. The latter was sent by Google to its partners to announce that the Google Now Launcher will be removed from the Play Store in the coming weeks, in any case before the end of the first quarter.

The Pixel Launcher for all smartphones?

Google Now Launcher is the launcher "base" Android, the "office" and the interface that you initially found installed on smartphones Nexus. This launcher can still be downloaded and installed on virtually any smartphone Android. A good way to overcome the imperfections of the interfaces manufacturers of some smartphones, adding in particular the possibility of bringing back the drawer of applications.

By removing the Google Now Launcher (LNG) from the Play Store, it is likely that Google wants to highlight the Pixel Launcher, its new interface that is found for the time exclusively on Pixel smartphones. The Pixel Launcher is currently not compatible with any third-party smartphone, but it is assumed that Google will extend its compatibility to more phones when LNG disappears.

If you have already installed the LNG on your phone, it will not disappear when it is removed from the Play Store. However, the app will no longer be tracked or updated by Google. | journaldugeek
