Scams and phishing on social networks and messaging services are numerous. The State Police informs us some new scams involving Facebook and Whatsapp that are circulating these days.
The first is Facebook. On many users see a page from a friend written message with the following text " Hey, what are you doing in this video? " , In the message display while your photo and invite you to click. Absolutely not open the link , if you do you will be redirected to a fake Facebook page that makes you install a phantom extension To Avoid Facebook . It is a malware that will infect your PC and will spread to the boards of all your friends.
Much the same for Whatsapp , in this case the scam comes via messages. The police will be noted two who are spreading especially during these holidays.
With the first scam you receive an invitation to install new animated emoji with the subsequent link. Clicking on the link will download a virus or inadvertently activate a paid service . In this case friend reported it and then delete the chat history to avoid to click even accidentally.
The second scam that spreads these days has become a classic of Whatsapp. This is the usual warning: " Warning: your version of WhatsApp is due today. If you do not update now, all of your messages, contacts, chat and images will be erased " .There will also be asked to send your number, of course it's all false! WhatsApp is free and there is no registration expiring .
