The software will be distributed to interested schools in the United States.
Facebook has taken the first step in the education market with software that makes the children can learn at a pace that they set themselves.
They cooperated with the Summit Public Schools pioneered a method of teaching that makes students can learn online and get a mentor in the classroom.
This project will be separated from the social network, Facebook said.
Even so, there are those who are skeptical with this step.
In the entry on their blog, Facebook director of product Chris Cox said the company wants to make the classroom "students-centered ambition".
Non-profit organizations rather skeptical about the privacy of the students.
But not everyone is convinced this step.
"Facebook does not have a great reputation when it comes to privacy," said Leonie Haimson, executive director of the non-profit organization Class Size Matters, alarming the data the students.
Facebook and Summit Public School plans to offer the software to interested schools in America.
Facebook is not the only tech giant involved in education. Google first offers educational products and Chromebooks is widely used in the classroom. (bbc)
