Chile evacuation of residents around the coast after the earthquake 8,3 SR

Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said waves as high as more than three meters above normal tide is expected to smash the entire coast of Chile.



Authorities in Chile have ordered residents to vacate the coastal areas after the 8,3 magnitude earthquake and two strong aftershocks cause a tsunami warning.

Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said waves as high as more than three meters above normal tide is expected to smash the entire coast of Chile.

The waves were higher than normal as well as possible as far as the Antarctic to the south and as far as Malaysia to the west.

No damage or injuries were reported so far in Chile. Wednesday's quake was centered approximately 500 kilometers north of Santiago and was felt as far as Buenos Aires.
