Jordan Blackburn, 19, fell ill after "drug abuse" at the Kendal Calling festival, England, on July 31.
While his friend named Christian Pay died of drug abuse.
They and his friends believed to have consumed at least three types of tablets at the event.
The mother of Jordan Blackburn, Alison Turnbull, said he wants other people to stop using drugs and do not make the same mistake as his son.
He said, "I thought my world was going to end. I know the condition of Christian and I thought, 'it's time', I just think we've lost him.
"He (Jordon Blackburn) just want to raise public awareness about the dangers of drugs. He was lying in a hospital bed and he just looked at me and said, 'I've been given a second chance to live, right?' and I said, 'Yes, you get a second chance'.
Jordon's mother added that physically Jordon has now recovered. He was still tired from his experience so many things.
Mental health also improved, but he has a sense of guilt.
