D-Day tells the story of an agent Wali Khan (Irrfan Khan) who is appointed by the head of the RAW (Indian intelligence agency), Ashwini Rao (Nassar). He was assigned on a mission to oversee the activities of D-Company leader of the most sought after, Goldman (Rishi Kapoor). One day he saw Goldman distributed invitations to people in the mosque when he prayed. Goldman saw a chance to catch him alive, he contacted Ashwini. Ashwini then assigned a team, Captain Rudra Pratap Singh (Arjun Rampal), Zoya Rehman (Huma Qureshi) and Aslam (Aakash Dahiya).
D-Day movie scene belanjut to the wedding day, the mayor saw his wife and son went to the airport to fly to London. Flights to Europe was postponed and the mayor and his wife could not leave. When his wife called Wali, turns her phone off. He then also knew that his house fires. Mayor's wife then sought information from airport personnel. Realizing that the Trustee assigned to capture Goldman, ISI (Pakistani intelligence) then warn their colleagues at the wedding. Wali, Rudra, Zoya, and Aslam planned catch Goldman. Goldman was able to run away and four such agents should hide.
Shame because the mission failed, the Indian government then dismissed four of the agent, leaving only Ashwini but he was forced to stop. Aslam was arrested and tortured by Goldman nephew when he tried to run away. Aslam was later rescued by Rudra who tried to take revenge on Goldman nephew who killed lover Rudra. When I heard that the mayor's wife and child died in the custody of the ISI, the four agencies to find ways to complete their mission despite the government ignored them.
ISI decided that Goldman was too responsible to continue to be protected, so they decided to kill him. Before they killed him, four RAW agents went to arrest Goldman. Goldman told the mayor that his wife and his son was still alive. Wali then be doubted whether Goldman or receive assistance completing its mission. Ashwini said to meet in Checkpost 35 before 6am. At the same time, the mayor set up a meeting with ISI to swap Goldman with his wife and children.
End of the film D-Day, the mayor went Checkpost 40 but was shot and killed by the Pakistani army. Unbeknownst to the mayor they had been poisoned and killed the son and his son. When the car Wali examined, it turns out he was not with Goldman.
