US women show patriotism with headscarf flag

Amid growing anti-Muslim sentiment in the United States after the attacks in Paris, a woman dared to show patriotism at once her faith by using patterned hijab US flag in the TV broadcast Fox News.



Woman named Saba Ahmed, founder of the Muslim Coalition of Republicans, appeared on news programs Megyn Kelly to defend the rights of Muslim communities in the United States to worship freely.

He chose to wear the hijab to confirm her opinion.

"I decided to wear the hijab (the American flag) in the last seconds," said Ahmed who was going to wear the hijab purple.

"The women are dressed also said hijab is beautiful. When will wear purple hijab they told me if I wanted to show my establishment, I should not be half-half," her added.

We are Americans

During the event, her had to deal with a spokesman Donald Trump, the presidential candidate of the Republican Party, which mentions mosques in the United States must be closed to prevent terrorism.

"The message I want to convey is that we are Americans, we are Muslims, and we support the Republican Party. We have to be considered and accepted," said Ahmed.

Ahmed clothing choices spotlight on social media and mentioned at least more than 800 times through Thursday (19/11).

A social media users write, "Women who used the American flag as a hijab should have won the award."

Other social media users wrote, "Pathetic. US soldiers died for that flag. That is not the hijab."

Others discuss how often the US flag worn as a symbol of patriotism.

"If you all to allow other women to use the US flag bikini/underwear that Muslim women should also wear a hijab."

Negative response does not degrade the spirit of Ahmed. According hateful comments just shows how the US does not care about Islam, which were attacked by supporters on Twitter. BBC
