Ahmed Mohamed, Muslim youth assemblers clock mistaken bombing

CNN Indonesia - When Ahmed Mohamed, went to school at MacArthur High School in Irving, Texas, Muslim teenager was so excited. Dreamed of becoming an engineer, that morning Ahmed wanted to show the digital clock that she raft of pencil case to the teacher.



However, instead of praise received Muslim adolescents aged 14 years, but the handcuffs that bind her hands after school officials called the police because he thought Ahmed brought a bomb to school.

"I assemble a clock that teachers impressed me. But when I showed her, she thought it was a threat to him," Ahmed said in a press conference on its home page on Wednesday (16/9), reported CNN.

Ahmed opened the press conference with a greeting as he introduced himself as "a man who got into trouble due to assemble clock," according to a report in The New York Times.

The New York Times reported that White House staff then invited Ahmed to the White House to attend Astronomy Night on 19 October, an event that will be attended by renowned scientists, engineers, astronauts, teachers and students who are interested in science.

In a press conference, Ahmed stated that he had received an invitation to the White House and Obama will attend.

"I am very touched. I want to use this spotlight to help every child around the world who experience the same thing," said Ahmed, responding to public attention to this incident.

Texas regulations stipulate that citizens who violate the law related to the fake bomb assembly are those "who produce, sell, buy, transport or having a hoax bomb with the intention of causing panic.

Ahmed's father, Mohamed Elhassan Mohamed, who emigrated from Sudan and has twice run for local office, stating that he was furious when the school did not call to inform this situation.

Mohamed claimed to know of this incident when he received a call from the police saying his son suspected of carrying a homemade bomb.

"I want to be able to talk to him, but the police did not allow me because they were interrogating," said Mohamed.

Police Chief Larry Boyd stated Ahmed homemade digital clock should describe to the officer. However, Boyd established that the teen did not intend to harm anyone.
