History Today | Inventor of Natural Snow Crystals and Artificial

Is the figure of the Japanese scientist named, Ukichiro Nakaya, classifying pieces of snow crystals.


Snowflakes mixed with the crystalline form as in the movie Frozen is summarized by Nakaya in 1954. Originally it was believed to be a nuclear physicist researcher in 1932.

Nakawa born on July 4, 1900 in Kaga, Ishikawa, Japan. Throughout his life he has managed to make the 3000 classification of snowflakes.


The man who became a professor at Hokkaido University have started to analyze the snow after he moved to Hokkaido. From there he began to study the natural snow and create artificial snow crystals are summarized in a book titled 'Crystal Snow: Natural and Artificial'.
