Vatican Admits State of Palestine

Vatican formally recognized the state of Palestine in a new agreement made.


The agreement, finalized on Wednesday (13/5), has not been signed but in the near future will soon be signed. This obviously makes the Holy See (Holy See) has changed the direction of their diplomatic far to Liberation Organization of Palestine or better known in Indonesia as the PLO.

As quoted by the Huffington Post, the Vatican has welcomed the decision by the UN General Assembly in 2012 to recognize the state of Palestine. However, the agreement is the first document that is negotiated between the Vatican and the Holy See Palestinian state, which is the first Vatican official recognition.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will be present to meet Pope Francis on Saturday, prior to the appointment of two new saints from sacred hold the next morning. (CNN Indonesia)
