The video project is a doctoral student in chemical engineering who want to reveal the reason why lithium-ion batteries used in many electronic devices such as smartphones and tablets is not good.
To see what happens to the lithium-ion battery when the temperature rises, the researchers record infrared images of the battery.
High temperature changes cause the risk of short circuit that can damage the components around the battery. It also can cause injury to humans.
However, Dr Paul Shearing recognize that things like that are rare under normal use.
However, he said that these experiments provide valuable knowledge about how weak cells in lithium-ion batteries.
Shearing also hope the experiment can help sensitize the producers about the security aspects of lithium-ion batteries.
