Nepal Earthquake Victims Killed 688 People

Kathmandu - Nepal Police say the death toll from a 7.9 magnitude earthquake continues to grow, and is now 688.


Kamal Singh Bam, inspector general of police, said the quake persist in the past 81 years have brought down thousands of homes.

Earthquake, he said, struck 81 kilometers northwest region of Kathmandu at 06:11 GMT. Wall of the house collapsed, and almost all the family are outside.

Initially, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said the quake was magnitude 7,5. Later, after the last measurement, known earthquakes measuring 7,9 and was at a depth of 15 kilometers.

The epicenter was located 68 kilometers east of Pokhara, a famous tourist city in Nepal.

Local media big earthquake lasted 30 seconds, and tremors for two minutes. The quake was felt not only in Nepal, but also India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.
