The clashes at the protest kills four people in Bangladesh

Thousands of police were deployed on the streets of the capital, Dhaka.


Bangladesh Police said at least four protesters were killed in clashes on the streets after the main opposition party called for blockade highways and railways.


Thousands of riot police were deployed on the streets are almost empty in the capital Dhaka. The authorities have stopped the service bus, train, and ferry to Dhaka to prevent mass protests commemorating the opposition boycotted elections.

Police have banned the former prime minister, opposition leader, Khaleda Zia, left the party office in Dhaka. According to the police locked her goal is to prevent violence.

From his office, calling Zia's Bangladesh Nationalist Party supporters, BNP, to perform the blockade of public transport.

"Not just me prisoner, but the entire country taken prisoner. Countries like what we live in," said Zia.

Zia and his rival, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, often called for protests and blockades when in a position of opposition. And Hasina accuses BNP tried to create unrest in an attempt to overthrow the government.
