Emissions cheating, South Korea investigated thousands of cars Volkswagen

SEOUL - South Korea's Ministry of the Environment will conduct an investigation emission diesel Volkswagen AG and Audi cars. This was done after the company admitted cheating emission tests on diesel-powered vehicles in the United States.



Deputy director at the Ministry of Environment, Park Kyu Pan ministry said the investigation will involve four thousand to five thousand units of the Volkswagen Jetta and Golf models also Audi A3 were produced in 2014 and 2015.

"If the South Korean government found problems in the VW diesel cars, the examination can be extended to all German diesel cars," he said.

This makes the cheating incident emission Volkswagen shares fell nearly 20 percent on Monday (21/9).

German government officials have expressed concern that the scandal could damage the reputation of the car industry. Meanwhile, the US Justice Department launch a criminal investigation efforts emission test game.
