California - Scientists at the US KNI is developing a computer chip made of wood. A case of what?
ScienceAlert launch, scientists at the US make a semi-conductor chip is almost completely made of wood.
"This chipset is very safe for the environment, if you put it in the woods, the chipset will be overgrown by fungi and other plants," said Zhenqiang Ma from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Chipset is functioning normally, because the lining is replaced by a layer of cellulose nanofibril (CNF); a strong layer that is also transparent.
Research published in the journal Nature Communications this chipset is hoping to attract electronics company out there.
