Earth Lighter on Christmas Eve

As reported by the Daily Mail, the earth is described more light on certain days. Christmas is a time when the earth shines 50% brighter than usual.


World Space Agency, NASA recently conducted a research. In this research, NASA deployed a team in charge of observing the Earth as the brightest planet. Through space satellite, the team found a unique light on the earth that shines brighter at certain times, especially major holidays.

Christmas is a time when the earth shine more brightly than usual. This happens almost all parts of the world. This looks more dominant in the American continent when there are events such as Black Friday, Thanksgiving, and New Year.

"Even from space, the holiday became shining bright," NASA said. "The city became the place really bright during the holiday season," he added.

All data collected by the team based on the results of the scanning space satellites NOAA/NASA Suomi National Polar-Orbiting Partnership (Suomi NPP). From satellite data is known that the major cities in the United States shining 20 to 50% more light on Christmas Eve and New Year. The data is based on sophisticated algorithms developed at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.
