2018 Audi Ready to Launch Two Electric Car

Bavaria - German car manufacturer, Audi, reportedly ready to produce two electric cars at once in the next four years.


Audi CEO Rupert Stadler announced two models of electric cars to be launched in 2018, as reported by the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

One of the electric car is a sports car Audi R8 e-tron. Currently, the Audi R8 e-tron produced only based on specific requests from customers. It is estimated that Audi will use the base of the second generation of the Audi R8 which will be available in 2015.

While the second electric car is a Sport Activity Vehicle (SAV) which seems to be based on the Audi Crosslane Coupe Concept. SAV electricity will be a competitor of the Tesla Model X will be released next year.

On the same occasion, Audi Stadler also announced plans to invest 2 billion euros in 2019 for the development of electric drive systems and digital technology, reports WorldCarFans.
