A dog killed the family cat after it set fire to the house while trying to get to a box of treats. It appears as thought the dog turned a knob on the cooker after jumping onto the kitchen units, fire officials said. The box containing the treats then set alight on the cooker and the flames spread throughout the kitchen. According to NBC4i, three dogs and one cat survived the fire, but another cat could not be saved. No humans were home when the fire broke out, but investigators found some of the dog treats on the cooker. Fire officials said: ‘Please keep items away from your stove and oven because freak things can and do happen.’ | Metro News
