Abandoned dog found curled up on his owner's recliner in Detroit

Heartbreaking photo of an abandoned dog curled up on his owner's recliner in the snow after it was dumped on a curb when they moved away *** An abandoned dog has been found curled up on his former owner's recliner after it was dumped by the side of the road when the family moved away and left him behind. The injured and emaciated dog was sleeping on the broken chair among a pile of garbage in the freezing cold in Detroit, Michigan for more than a week. The dog's family had moved away and failed to take him with them. A heartbreaking photo shows him clinging to the chair and the dumped belongings on the snow-covered street waiting for his family to come back for him. The starving dog, nicknamed Ollie-loo, was rescued by a volunteer with the Detroit Animal Welfare Group (D.A.W.G.) suffering from a broken leg and missing teeth. His ribs were also poking out from underneath his fur. 'He was just waiting for his family to come back,' volunteer Terri Looby told CBS Detroit. 'He got up on that chair and stayed out of the snow. It was very heartbreaking.' The dog is believed to be about a year and a half old and possibly a mix between a pitbull and labrador. Ollie-loo has now been put in care of a foster family while the animal welfare group wait for someone to adopt him. He will have to undergo surgery for his broken leg. | Daily Mail Online
