Guy is selling a pre-Brexit £5 and Toblerone for £500 because 2016 is trash

Don’t you just miss the good old days when Toblerones had bigger triangles and £5 notes were made out of paper? If you’re feeling nostalgic, a man has just listed something on Facebook’s Market Place to transport you right back to early 2016 – the golden age. And it will only cost you £500 – bargain! The seller, Joe Wright, wrote on the listing: ‘Grab a slice of pre-Brexit Britain’. The sale features an old £5 note from a Tesco self-service machine and a retro Toblerone bar with nostalgic smaller gaps between the chocolate triangles. And as an added bonus, the £5 note’s serial number is pretty significant. Wright added: ‘Please note that the serial no. of the vintage £5 starts with LK which is particularly significant if you live in Sri Lanka.’ It’s clearly a joke, but does reflect the general feeling across Britain for many of us who don’t like change. Joe, who works in IT, told us: ‘I did keep the old £5 when the new one was released because I thought it won’t be around forever. And I found some Toblerone and thought, that won’t be around forever either. ‘I’ve seen fivers go up for a grand, so I thought I’d take the p*ss.’ The 23-year-old said he would love to see someone buy the two for £500, but he’s not holding out. The new polymer £5 note was issued in September and the redesign of the Toblerone was launched earlier this month. | Metro News
