At least four people are believed to have died when a medical transport plane transporting a patient crashed into a parking lot and caused multiple explosions in Elko, Nevada. A patient and three crew members aboard the aircraft were killed when it crashed near a casino, grocery store and senior housing complex on Mountain City Highway on Friday evening, the Elko Free Press reported. Cardiologist Dr. Rodney Badger told the publication it was an American Medflight plane that had just taken off from Elko Regional Airport. He said a heart patient, who had coronary artery disease and was experiencing chest pains and rapid heartbeat, was being taken to the University of Utah. 'There were four people on board,' Elko City Councilman John Patrick Rice told Elko Free Press. 'It appears that everyone on the airplane died.' Several vehicles caught on fire when the aircraft crashed, although nobody on the ground is believed to have been injured. It is thought the plane was taking off from Elko Regional Airport at the time. The FAA and the NTSB will investigate. | Daily Mail Online
