UN - Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN Secretary General) Ban Ki Moon condemned the horrific terrorist attacks that occurred on Friday (20/11), at a luxury hotel, the Radisson Blu, Mali. According to him, the attack launched aimed at destroying the peace efforts in the country.

"The secretary general strongly deplores any attempt to thwart the implementation of the agreement signed in June between competing factions," said UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric.

Mali troops backed by French troops stormed the Hotel Radisson Blu Hotel in the capital of Mali, Bamako after suspected Islamic militants seized the guests and the hotel staff for nine hours which left at least 18 people were killed.

But there has been no direct confirmation of the group associated with the Paris attack that occurred last Friday, and caused 129 deaths. However, Ban indicated time events related to the fragility of the peace agreement in Mali.

Dujarric added, Ban noted that "this attack occurred when the peace process produces good progress".

Ban expressed his full support to the authorities of Mali in their fight against terrorists and extremists, and said the UN peacekeeping force of troops will provide assistance MINUSMA

The members of the two factions of Mali, Azawad Movement Coordination (CMA) and a Tuareg-led Platform, a coalition of pro-government group, were attending a meeting in Bamako implementation agreement with the government and international donors.

Previously, North Mali never subdued by the power of Tuareg rebels and jihadist groups linked to Al-Qaeda, in mid-2012 before being defeated in a French-led operation in early 2013.

The most active jihadist groups in Mali is allied with Al-Qaeda, instead of the terrorist group the Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack Paris.
