75 Years John Lennon: before died screaming, I was shot!

If still alive, John Lennon turns 75 years old on October 9, 2015. Unfortunately, the legendary musician born in Liverpool, England, was to be killed by David Chapman at the age of 40.



At that time, Monday evening, December 8, 1980, John Lennon and his wife, Yoko Ono, returned to the apartment in the Dakota, New York, USA, after recording the song Walking On Thin Ice. When out of the limousine, dozens of fans approached John Lennon for an autograph.

Chapman, who was then aged 25 years were among the other fans by wearing a brown jacket. The portly man holding a .38 revolver, John Lennon with a warm greeting, and had asked for an autograph before asking five bullets into the body of John Lennon.

With a body covered in blood, John Lennon was rushed to Roosevelt Hospital. Unfortunately, John Lennon's life could not be saved. An hour later, John Lennon was killed while in the emergency department.

"I've been shot! I'm been shot!" That last sentence was said of John Lennon before breathing his last.

Surprisingly, after shooting Lennon, Chapman did not leave the scene. Chapman remained there while reading the novel Catcher in the Rye JD Salinger works until the police come arrest him. In his interrogation, Chapman even acknowledge that the fictional character Holden Caulfield apathetic, circus, and anti-falsehood in the novel has been transformed into itself.

"I'm sure most of me is Holden Caulfield, the main character in the book. A small part of me is definitely the devil," said the man born foth Wourth, Texas, in 1955.

Murder had been planned more than three months was triggered by excessive obsession Chapman to John Lennon and Chapman mental disorders. Chapman is a fanatic admirer of The Beatles and John Lennon saw as a hero. But all the admiration that ended when John Lennon made controversial statements in the media that the Beatles were "more popular than Jesus".
