Singapore's ruling party won the election

People's Action Party (PAP) led by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore won the general election with a gain of nearly 70% of the vote.



Thanks to such support, the PAP is entitled securing 83 of 89 seats in parliament. The remaining seats were occupied by the opposition Workers' Party (WP).

PM Lee, who is also secretary general of the PAP, he is happy with the results.

"Tomorrow will be better than today," said Lee, who is the son of the founder of the PAP, the late Lee Kuan Yew.

While the Election Commission said the elections this time followed by 93.56% from the 2.46 million people. Some analysts say that number is very likely boosted by the patriotic spirit of the people of Singapore, which increased after Lee Kuan Yew died in March.
