Facebook Haunted by Fines of Rp 4 Billion Per Day

Facebook again 'hooked' with privacy case. Social networking sites are accused of spying on users in the same way as that of the US National Security Agency or the National Security Agency (NSA).



Belgian Privacy Commission (BPC) has filed a lawsuit against Facebook. They accused Facebook has "trampled all privacy laws Belgium and Europe '.

"When it became known that the NSA spying on people around the world, all the rage. The actor [Facebook] do the same thing, though in different ways," said Frederic Debussere, the lawyer representing BPC in a statement, as quoted by The Guardian.

In the report mentioned in detail his complaint also alleged other abuses by Facebook, which track users who have logged out of their accounts for advertising purposes.

BPC threatening Facebook with a fine of 250,000 euros, or about Rp 4.1 billion per day if it does not respond to these demands. The suit would end if the stop stalking Facebook users in Europe.

On the other hand, in a Facebook statement insisting that they are subject to the laws of Ireland, which is a state where the center offices of Facebook in Europe is located.


Facebook also denied claims made by the commission BPC. A company spokesman told The Guardian, "We will demonstrate to the court how these technologies to protect people from spam, malware and other attacks, that our practices are consistent with EU law and with the most popular websites in Belgium."

Facebook has repeatedly stated that its services have met the requirements set by the Irish data protection agency.

Meanwhile, Paul Lefebvre, lawyer up, saying, "How can Facebook be subject to Belgian law if the management of data collection is done by Facebook in Ireland and there are 900 employees working in the country?".
