North Korea's deputy prime minister 'killed'

The South Korean government says it is following a number of reports that Deputy Prime Minister of North Korea, Choe Yong-gon, was killed in May on the orders of Kim Jong-un.



Choe was sentenced to death because he "expressed discomfort against the leader of the country's afforestation policy," South Korean news agency, Yonhap.

About 70 officers were killed under the rule of Kim Jong-un, said Yonhap.

BBC still can not be sure of this report, but North Korea rarely ensure the death penalty report from South Korea.

Choe was last seen in public in December, the ministry said the merger of South Korea.

The ministry said "watching carefully the possibility of any changes related to the presence Choe".

Only a few details related obtained the death sentence given to Yonhap, the media are often first reported the news of North Korea.

Choe Yong-gon is the deputy minister of construction and building materials industry.

He represents North Korea in trade negotiations in Seoul in mid-2000.
