New York - Puerto Rico Boxer Miguel Cotto defend his world title WBC middleweight after beating Daniel Geale of Australia, Saturday (6/6) evening or Sunday pm.



Cotto dropped Geale twice in the fourth round before the referee stopped the fight Harvey Dock.

Cotto dominated since the beginning of rounds in a fight in front of 12 thousand spectators at the Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York. Stastik showing 68 of 183 punches managed to meet the target (37 percent), ahead of Geale that only 33 of 127 (26 percent).

He landed a hard left hook in the fourth round and then finish with a series of punches that made the Australian boxer kissing the canvas a second time.

"I cast a left punch and that I did after he lowered his right arm and boom," Cotto said after the match.

Geale up again but could not fight anymore so the referee stopped the match.

Cotto (34) now has a 40-4 record with 33 knockouts. It became the third match Cotto alongside trainer Freddie Roach.

He is likely to face Mexican boxer Saul "Canelo" Alvarez later this year.
