Destroyed Kathmandu, Death Toll Reaches 2.300

Kathmandu - Nepal Rescuers on Sunday (26/4), said the 7,9 magnitude quake death toll reached 2.300 and still growing.



Kamal Singh Bam, Nepal police spokesman, said the 1.953 recorded deaths, 4629 injuries. On the ground, rescuers continued to dig the debris and pull bodies.

The latest reports mention earthquake centered not far from Pokhari, the second largest city in Nepal, also rocked Tibet and left 17 people dead.

In the state of Bihar, India, the death toll also rose to 53 people. Most victims are in the districts bordering with Nepal.

International aid continued to arrive. China sent a team of 62 people and dogs. The US and Europe announced immediately sent help.

At the foot of Mount Everest, six helikopoter reach base camp to rescue climbers and locals who survived.
