History Today | 06/01/2015: Airlines with Roving These Earth

Founded on March 14, 1927, Pan America Airways became one of the first commercial airline which flies flying around the earth. In the period before World War II, the company founded by Major Henry H. Arnold's own network of routes in the United States, Europe, and Asia.


Entered World War II, the planes Pan America Airways used by the military for military purposes, new in 1947 the airline began operating again with the service around the world with Lockheed Constellations named Clipper America. These include the San Francisco flights with stops in Honolulu, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Manila, Kolkata, Delhi, Beirut, Istanbul, Frankfurt, London, and finally New York.

Right on January 6, 1970 the world's mobile services actually realized by the New York route back to New York, with a Boeing 707. Early 1970s the airline's heyday, before the oil crisis in 1973 affecting the airline business is overall. Right on January 8, 1991 Pan America Airways officially declared bankrupt.
