Experts have stated that for this year, the second time will be longer because of the Earth's rotation is slowing.

As reported Mirror, experts will add a 'leap second' for the 26th time at noon on the 30th of June in the International Earth Rotation Service, Paris. One extra seconds it takes for the rotation of the earth continues to decelerate gradually approximately 2/1000 seconds per day.

"The atomic clock is incremented by one second. Therefore, on June 30, there will be 86.401 seconds, instead of 86.400 seconds. The length of the day for you and me and all other people on earth will consist of a few extra seconds," said Nick Stamatakos from the United States Naval Observatory.

Unfortunately, the addition of 'leap second' that actually began in 1972 can be bad for the Internet. In the year 2012 and for example, Mozilla, Reddit, LinkedIn, and dozens of other sites were damaged as a result of it.

The solution to overcome the problem, Google also has developed a technique known as 'leap smear'. With this technique, Google will add a few milliseconds to hours before the arrival of the system gradually 'leap second'.

Meanwhile, the United States it is rumored to want to eliminate the 'leap second'. One extra seconds it is considered to interfere with navigation and communication systems as well as causing financial transactions can take place timed erratic. Instead, the British refused even if the 'leap second' abolished as 'leap seconds' thought to mark the end of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
