Thieves break into London house in just 10 seconds using a piece of CARDBOARD

A shocking film has revealed how easy it is for burglars to break into a home using just a piece of cardboard. Footage released by the Metropolitan Police shows two men using a small piece of the material to force open a door in just 10 seconds. Officers are using the video as part of a campaign urging London residents to double lock their doors and ensure their homes are secure. The footage starts with the men approaching the door and checking whether it is unlocked. After conversing for a few moments, one of the men turns around and jams a piece of cardboard between the door and the frame. In mere seconds he is able to dislodge the lock and the two walk calmly into the property as the chilling film ends. The Met's #BeSafe crime prevention campaign is currently being trialled in Barnet, Enfield and Lambeth. In a statement, the force said: '#BeSafe aims to motivate, empower and mobilise Londoners to take small crime prevention steps to protect themselves and their property, while officers continue to work hard to disrupt and arrest the criminals. The next phase of #BeSafe will give advice to people in the run up to Christmas on how to keep their mobile phones safe. | DailyMail
