Indian officials keep 'bribes' in the fridge and in the mattress

Police found the rupee in mattresses, pillows, and even a fridge, an official home in Kolkata.

Police in Kolkata, India, said they found large amounts of cash, they need a large pool of 20 hours and three engines to calculate the value of the money.



This money belongs to a city official who allegedly came from bribes.

Law enforcement officials say the money in the form of rupees is equivalent to US$ 3,2 million, or about Rp44,3 billion.

Teams of police anti-corruption unit found the money among others stored in pillows, mattresses, sofas, ceiling, walls, refrigerator, and even some are found under the floor tiles in the bathroom.

The officer looked exhausted when these officials to leave the house and they said it would be searched other houses belonging to officials suspected of corruption.
