Indonesia - Head of Information Department of the Air Force Marshal Dwi Badarmanto declare the death toll from the collapse of the Hercules C-130 aircraft belonging to the Air Force in Medan, North Sumatra, has reached 130 people until this morning, Wednesday (1/7).
"This morning already 130 body bags, 41 of whom have been identified," Dwi said in a written statement received by CNN Indonesia.
The death toll is thus increased from overnight. Of that total, 122 of which are located in the fuselage, the 12 crew and 110 passengers consisting of soldiers and their families.
The bodies of the victims were flown back to their homelands after dawn earlier. Currently the bodies were on the way, and some of them will arrive at Halim Air Base, East Jakarta, this morning.
More than 10 ambulances currently observed has been at Halim to bring the bodies of the victims to the funeral home. Until this news was revealed, the body has not yet arrived.
Before the fall, Hercules fateful travel to some military airfield on the island of Java, Sumatra, and Borneo. The plane was carrying logistics.
Monday (29/6), the aircraft departed from Lanud Abdul Rachman Saleh, Malang, East Java, heading Lanud Adisucipto, Semarang, Central Java, before then flew to the airfield Halim Perdakanusuma, Jakarta.
Tuesday (30/6), Hercules took off from the air base Halim Perdanakusuma, towards the airfield Roesmin Nurjadin in Pekanbaru, Riau, to then continue the flight to Dumai airfield and airfield Suwondo, Medan.
