China blocked access to Gmail

China - Google and Dyn Research has ensured that the Chinese government since a few days ago began blocking access to Gmail.


Google transparency report which presents a real-time information services use Gmail shows that traffic has dropped to almost zero. Supports the report, Dyn Research as internet analytics company also stated that there had been blocking "IP level" to Gmail.


"China has a number of ways to block content. One of the most rude way is to block an IP address and when you do you block all content available on the IP," said Earl Zmijewski, vice president Dyn Data Analysis Research to Mashable.

Zmijewski also revealed that most of the access Gmail in China routed through IP addresses of Hong Kong. He also has examined six different locations and found that all of them are blocked.


In recent years, China and Google does have quite a complicated relationship. In June, China has blocked access to all Google services ahead of the 25th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre. Previously, China also had to do the same in 2009 and 2012. Google itself was in 2010 had stated publicly that it would no longer censor its search engine in China.
