NCAA: Villanova named number one when unveiling March Madness

The NCAA announced the composition of its table of confrontations for the March Madness tournament on Sunday, which will take off on March 16th.

The reigning champions of the event, the Villanova Wildcats, were named as the best team for the tournament. This is the first time that a team that defends its title is named No. 1 in the country since the Gators of the University of Florida in 2007.

In addition, they will try to become the first team since the same Gators to win two consecutive national championships.

They will face the winner of the game for position #16 of the East section, between Mount Saint Mary's and New Orleans.

The same goes for the Jayhawks of Kansas University, which is the best team in the mid-west section. They will have to wait for the "First Four" match between the University of California at Davis and the University of North Carolina.

As for the other sections, Gonzaga will face South Dakota State in the first game of the West section, while the University of North Carolina will cross the line with the Texas Southern University Tigers.

As for Montreal's Chris Boucher, who has seen his season come to an end due to a knee injury, he will be able to encourage teammates from the University of Oregon's Ducks, who will compete in the first round Gaels of Iona.
