A new throne for Ed Sheeran? After dethroning The Weeknd with 57 million plays on Spotify in a week with his album "Divide", Ed Sheeran now covets a new one. And this one is rather unpublished. Whoever scores with the title "Shape Of You" and nearly 430 million views on Youtube will make an appearance in the new season of Game Of Thrones .
This is what the two showrunners of the hit series David Benioff and Daniel B. Weiss announced on Sunday, March 12, during a conference at the South by Southwest, a festival of music, film and television festivals. Interactive media, at the Austin Convention Center, Texas.
"For years we have tried to involve Ed Sheeran in the series to surprise Maisie Williams. This year we finally did it," confessed David Benioff before the panel that listened to him, recalling that the actress was a Great fan of the musician.
No clarification has yet been given as to the role it will play. Vanity Fair has contacted a spokesman for HBO , which confirmed that he had a role, "without further details," he added. The actor has not yet entered the casting of the season on the IMDB site .
At that conference, the two co-creators also specified that season 7 would have 7 episodes and that season 8 would have 6 episodes .
The seventh season will start on July 16th on HBO .
