Chris Mintz willing to be human shields to protect his friends

When Chris Harper Mercer brutal action in Umqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon, Chris Mintz become a hero figure for his colleagues.


He's willing to make his body as human shields when Mercer opened fire toward his friends.

A total of seven bullets lodged in his body, but the action of Chris Mintz was saved to save his classmates from Mercer shooter.

30-year-old man was hailed as a hero. As reported Metro, Saturday (10/03/2015), at least 10 people were killed by the brutal action of Mercer.

Mintz had to be rushed to the hospital, and the doctors had to perform surgery to take seven bullets from his body.

"There is no way he is to save yourself and watch something terrible happened," said his cousin, Derek Bourgeois.

Bourgeois added, though Mintz had been shot several times, no vital organs had been injured.

Mintz who spent a decade in the Army and recently enrolled at the university, is expected to recover after surgery.

Mercer action is a series of school shootings in the US 45th of this year.

Reportedly, Mercer has asked the religion of the victims before shooting. He reportedly died after engaging in a shootout with police action.
