Ukrainian customs delays parcels Meizu, but early to panic

In recent weeks, the beginning of the Ukrainian customs to stop sending smartphones Meizu, ordered through Rozetka.ua site. Reported AIN.UA referring to the director of online store Vladislav Chechetkina. According to him, the competitors are trying to learn from the experience of their Russian colleagues - since last month ordered Xiaomi smartphones in China began to "wrap" on the border of the Russian Federation at the request of the official distributor of the "Smart Orange". Meanwhile, the lawyers believe that an ordinary Ukrainian consumers should not worry about it.

Why is this happening

According to Article 398 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, the owner of the rights to the trade mark (as amended by the customs register ) may apply to the State Fiscal Service (GFS) on suspicion of violating intellectual property rights. In the case of Meizu appeal was signed by the company Viktoriey Tsitovich, the former director of "Citrus Trade". She left the company in 2011, but continues to work with "citrus" and Meizu. In one of the letters refers to the importation of counterfeit goods into Ukraine, in connection with which it has suspended customs clearance.

Seller of smartphones Meizu ordered through Rozetka site are foreign online stores. Thus the cost of the devices does not exceed the customs limit of 150 euros and the final buyer is always a citizen of Ukraine, he told Vladislav Chechetkin.

And Xiaomi too?

The first in a network there were reports of suspension of registration of parcels with Xiaomi, although these complaints are not of mass character. Delivery problems could arise also because some sellers underestimate the cost of the more expensive models of devices at the request of the buyer. If a parcel check at customs, it will have to get customs clearance. In case of failure of the item is returned back to the store.

What the lawyers say?

According to the lawyer Vladislav Belotskii, managing partner of JSC Belotsky Pukalo, the parcel may be delayed for a period of 10 to 20 days, but customs do not miss it on only if during that time the owner of the trademark rights to sue. "I doubt that for the sake of one or two units of goods, rights holders will begin legal proceedings", - added he.

Thus, waiting for parcel delivery may be delayed, but in most cases, the buyer will receive your order.
