Terrifying video shows hammer-wielding burglar rifling through couple's possessions just feet from where they lie sleeping *** A hammer-wielding burglar was caught on camera rifling through a couple's home as they slept just a matter of feet away. The man forced his way into a property in Measham, Leicestershire, after smashing glass in a back door. He was caught on CCTV going through drawers and looking under a bed in an unused bedroom while the occupants slept nearby and a television played in the background. Leicestershire Police confirmed no one was injured in the incident but the couple had been left in shock. A spokesman said: 'The incident took place around 8pm on Thursday 20 October and the suspect made off empty handed in a new style maroon Ford Fiesta towards Gallows Lane. 'The vehicle was found burnt-out near Linton, Derbyshire later on the same evening. 'If you recognise anything about the suspect, either his clothing or his demeanour, then please contact us. 'Even if you believe the information you can provide isn’t significant we would still like you to come forward.'
