The oldest women in the UK died

Ethel Lang is the oldest British woman.


Women are believed to be the oldest woman in Britain, who was born when Queen Victoria's rule, has died at the age of 114 years.

Ethel Lang was born in the territory of Worsbrough, Barnsley, May 27, 1900 and lived in South Yorkshire mining town throughout her life.


In 2005, she moved to a nursing home Water Royd in Barnsley, where her died on Thursday (15/01) ago.

Ethel Lang left a 91-year-old daughter.

She is the oldest person in the UK after a London resident named Grace Jones died at the age of 113 years in 2013.

History records, Ethel Lang is one of the six women who left school at age 13 to work in a clothing factory.

She married her husband, William, in 1922 and had a daughter named Margaret. Her husband died in 1988.

"She was a good mother, I long to stay with him. I am a very lucky person ..," said the princess, Margaret Walker told BBC Radio Sheffield.

He said there are blind at the age of 85 years, his mother still can enjoy the radio broadcast of the game of snooker.

"She loves snooker and love (player) Jimmy White. She always supported it," she added.

Ethel Lang was born in 1900 when Queen Victoria ruled on English soil.

Speaking to the BBC on the day she repeated to-108, Lang said that the memory of World War indelible.

Some reports mention, now the oldest women's status in the UK is Gladys Hooper 111 years old. She will be 112 years old on Sunday (18/01) this.

So far the oldest person in the world carried by Misao Okawa, a Japanese woman who celebrates 116th birthday in March.
