Living Celibacy Causes of Sexual Violence in the Church

Canberra - A report issued by the Board of Healing and Truth Australian law mentions a number of Catholic priests involved sexual violence recognizes celibacy is the main reason they commit sexual assault.


"Celibacy shall contribute greatly to the violence in some situations," the 40-page report issued by the board.

Celibacy is not married life of a lifetime for a Catholic priest. The report urged Roman Catholics committed to fairness, transparency, and love only, and provide compensation to victims.

PressTV reported council also condemned the abuse of children who do a lot of pastors, and the attitude of the church that closes the case for the sake of the establishment.

"The institution of the church and their leaders turned a blind eye for decades, instinctively or deliberately," the report said. "All of this is to protect religion and institutions, but the neglect of children."

The Roman Catholic Church was hit by scandals of sexual abuse of children in a number of Catholic churches in the US and Eropal in recent years. They are also accused of cover up sexual abuse of children by priests altar to protect pedophiles and their reputation.

"We have to ask the question whether celibacy is maintained when some people can not bear to do it," said Francis Sullivan, chief executive officer of the board.

According to Sullivan, celibacy seems to still be maintained but the church improve screening candidates for the priesthood.
